~No Grocery shopping challenge~

Posted by bethany

I have been following MoneySavingMom's blog and she is doing an Eating from the pantry challenge. I am Planning to try it for the rest of the month. Which might be kinda hard since we are now out of Sugar and almost out of milk. It is fun and financially rewarding to use up what you have been stock piling.

This morning for breakfast we ate Granola bars, to try and save on cereal. For lunch we are having pb&j or PB& grapes, and mandarin oranges. And for Dinner we are having Roast and Baked potatoes and Canned vegetable.

Just think how much y ou could save if you skipped shopping for a week every month or every 2 months. We currently have a budget of $100 a week which we upped to pay for gardening supplies. Since our garden will Supply food we normally would have to pay for I felt we could splurge a little to make this happen. As soon as I am done buying for the garden which should be next month i am going to have a goal to spend $50 a week for our family of 4 with a Bible Study at our house one a week Where we feed Snacks to Teenagers.

I am currently a stay at home mom who is homeschooling. My son is 5 and my Daughter will be 3 next month. I have some advantages that some of you may not but I have some hardships that you may not have as well. So I challenge you to take a week off from shopping. Use up your stock pile and save the money for something else. We are going to put ours toward some taxes we owe unexpectedly.
